History of Grama Panchayat

Morayur Grama Panchayat is a region noted for its natural beauty and rich historical heritage. Historically linked to the reign of the Zamorin of Calicut, this area was the domain of the Thinayinchery Elayathu. The Kodithodika family held a prominent position in the social and administrative spheres, holding the post of the Amsham Adhikari (village head). In the field of education, the contributions of Kodithodika Veeran Haji were priceless; the Veeran Haji Memorial High School named after him paved the way for the region's educational advancement. Establishing the Dharmaparipalana Sangham to provide free food for students and travelers is another example of his spirit of service.
